Beaumont Chenin Blanc 2011 - W.O. Botrivier
On a recent road trip up the N2, winepom stumbled across Beaumont’s open day in the small town of Botrivier. The temperature was a blistering 36 degrees so the perfect opportunity for some deliciously chilled wines. Overall the Beaumont wines are excellent but you’ll need a couple of European style bail outs to afford them. However a win that even a Greek pensioner could stretch to is the Beaumont Chenin Blanc 2011– made from carefully grown old bush vine Chenin Blanc (up to 36 years old) on the Beaumont farm, this off dry beauty is a deliciously complex Chenin Blanc packed with crystallised pineapple, lemon peel and a loooong crisp finish. You won't be disappointed by this little gem and it will give you something to enjoy those sumptious sunsets with. It's almost as good as the dancing in the Black Keys video.
